If you’re a fan of golf, you’ve probably heard of the JCB Golf and Country Club. The purpose-built golf club and new course which was completed in 2018, offers a supreme level of golf that has already played host to some of the game’s icons on the Legends Tour, as well as YouTube stars, Good Good and Rick Shiels. But producing a course of this stature, with the aim to host a PGA Tour event in the future, cannot be cheap to do. So how much did it cost to build the JCB golf country club?
Let’s learn a little more about the project and see what it takes to build such a breathtaking venue for golf.
How Much Did The JCB Golf Course Cost?
JCB Golf And Country Club
The JCB Golf and Country Club was launched in 2018 by the digger giant JCB just up the road from their Staffordshire headquarters. The 7308-yard par 72 is a championship-level, tour-ready contemporary masterpiece set amid magnificent surrounding countryside and offers stunning views and a serious test of golf.
Built by the industry heavyweights JCB, using cutting-edge technology, their ambitious vision is for the course to be used more as a marketing tool rather than for the regular golfer to enjoy.
With sights firmly set on hosting a PGA Tour event there within a few years, they believe an event of that stature would hugely boost their global presence in the US construction market. The country club reflects what the company can offer on a global scale, including JCB products and shows off its capabilities to a wider audience.
Designed by the course architecture giants, European Golf Design, and the internationally renowned Robin Hiseman, it features lush green rolling countryside and stunning views. A clubhouse and hotel with luxury lodges also accompany the tournament-level course.
The 10 luxury lodges sit amongst the golf course and offer an amazing place for members to stay. Each lodge features four en-suite private bedrooms and makes for a perfect place to end up after an enjoyable round of golf.
The club also features a state-of-the-art driving range and golf academy headed up by the former senior instructor at the Butch Harmon School of Golf Dubai. This world-class golf academy, with exceptional practice facilities including a putting and chipping green, is a dream setup for elite golfers.
Vast green complexes and iconic construction mean it’s a real test and is far from easy to shoot a good score at the JCB. Having already hosted the Legends Tour event, The JCB Championship saw the likes of Vijay Singh, John Daly, Retief Goosen, and the eventual winner Alex Cejka take to the course.

How To Play The JCB Golf Country Club?
Currently, for most people, they’ll not be able to play at the golf club. Right since its inception in 2018 and from when it opened publicly in September 2019, only a very few select memberships will be allowed.
The JCB Golf and Country Club is unlike even some of the most exclusive golf courses in the world, in the fact that they only allow corporate memberships. These are reserved for top customers, big suppliers, and leading dealers of the JCB brand.
For the lucky few corporate members, the JCB Golf Club membership cost will start at a punchy £20,000 a year and will allow a certain amount for rounds to be played each year.
These rounds can be used for company days, entertaining or charity golf, however, they can’t be sold off to someone willing to pay the price.
So even if you’re a top dog or a famous face, you’ll struggle to get tee times at JCB, unless of course, you know a member.
JCB has no real intention of a flourishing membership program like you would expect from a normal private golf club. Its goal is to increase the firm’s visibility on a global stage and it believes a world-class, tournament-ready golf club is the way to do that.
So best of luck getting a round, if you’re fortunate enough to get the opportunity, please feel free to get in touch…
How Much Did The JCB Golf Course Cost?
So how much did it cost to produce such a stunning venue for golf? Well, as you can imagine, it wasn’t cheap. It’s reported that it cost £30 million to build JCB Golf and Country Club, with no expense spared on the details.
But for that price, they’ve built a mesmerizing place to play a round of golf and enjoy the brilliant accommodation.
Everything about this golf club is perfect, from the manicured fairways to the rolling countryside to the sleek greens. 240 acres of stunning scenery with natural water hazards, worked into most holes, and elegant sweeping fairways for tee shots.
They wanted to build something a bit special that could attract the eyes of the world and that’s certainly what they got. A relaxed yet positive environment for top-quality golfers.
An example of the outstanding brilliance of this course is the signature hole – the 17th. Drawing comparisons to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass, this long par 3 to an island green is one of the most beautiful holes ever created, and finding the putting surface is an almighty challenge.
The island green set in the middle of a lake encapsulates the absolute beauty of this golf course.
JCB Golf Course Membership Prices
For the lucky few, JCB Golf Course membership prices start at around £20,000 a year and will allow the member to have a certain amount of rounds to be played a year.
A JCB Golf membership is specifically designed for corporate clients that have a relationship with JCB. This includes top suppliers and customers from the business.
JCB Golf Club Green Fees
As mentioned, the JCB golf country club isn’t open to visitors. Therefore they don’t have any JCB golf course fees to speak of. Members are strictly corporate and they’re allowed to auction off greens fees as prizes for charity. This means the JCB price can vary greatly depending on the auction.
If you’re JCB staff, you’ll have a few opportunities to play there on the weekend. The JCB golf course price will start at £60 and guests are £70.
So as you can tell, JCB golf course green fees are pretty hard to come by.
JCB Golf Club Scorecard
The following is the JCB golf country club scorecard, which includes the yellow, white and black tee boxes. The course also has shorter tees, blue and green tees for lady players and shorter hitters.
Huge run-offs and plenty of water are there to catch you out on almost every hole.

Final Thoughts
There’s no denying the club at JCB is a spectacular golf experience. In such a short space of time since opening, it has already hosted a top tour event with some of the best players ever to play the game, making their way around the championship-level course.
It’s a course design of the highest nature and Robin Hiseman has done an astounding job.
Of course, this new vision for a golf club was an ambitious vision that wasn’t cheap to build. But JCB was prepared to pay whatever it costs to get a spectacular country club just how they wanted. With the level of the golf course they now have, it’s set for a high-level tour event to be played around there.
Having already had the top senior golfers in the world, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re seeing the biggest and best names in the game competing there soon.
If you’re in the area, you might have a better chance of playing other less exclusive golf courses such as Uttoxeter Golf Club.
From one elite golf venue to another, have you ever wondered where Augusta National is and how can you play?
